Government
MISSION STATEMENT:
The Mentz Town Government is dedicated to serving in an open and ethical manner by providing leadership that sets the community agenda and aligns resources, enhancing the vitality of the community.
VISION STATEMENT:
A community working together to preserve the past and pioneer the future.
TOWN BOARD:
Local governments exist for the purpose of providing services and public facilities to the people who live within their jurisdiction. The Town of Mentz is governed by a Town Board, comprised of four Council members and a Supervisor, all of whom are elected at large by the qualified voters of the town. The Town Board meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7PM in the Mentz Town hall.
VOLUNTEER BOARDS:
The Town of Mentz also has several volunteer boards that function to oversee and/or provide advisory input for a variety of town processes and responsibilities including the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals. Comprised of community members, these boards play an important role in Mentz's success by evaluating information, discussing issues which affect our community, making decisions on matters under consideration, or making recommendations to the Town Board for needed action. Those interested in serving on a volunteer board may submit a resume to the Office of the Supervisor as positions are vacated.
